Serving over 100,000 free, nutritious meals annually to children and youth across South Los Angeles through our USDA federally funded program.
One of the many challenges our families and community members face is food insecurity caused by political, social and economic factors. When people don't have enough to eat and don't know where their next meal will come from, it adds an additional layer of disparities to vulnerable populations.
Through our USDA federally funded nutrition program, we provide a wide variety of diverse free lunches and snacks in high need areas of South Los Angeles. Our program targets children and youth 18 and under during the school year and in the summer.
Impacting our community and tackling health and well-being matters. We take pride in serving over 100,000 meals annually.
Food insecurity is a critical challenge facing families in our community, driven by political, social, and economic factors. When people don't have enough to eat, it compounds every other challenge they face — from academic performance to mental and physical health.
We aim to foster community resilience and healing by building networks and coalitions that include social services, behavioral health, community organizations, educational institutions, businesses, and faith-based stakeholders that engage at-risk families with the necessary resources and support to help them face everyday challenges.
During the school year, we provide free lunches and snacks to children and youth 18 and under at multiple sites across South Los Angeles.
When school is out, food insecurity increases. Our summer program ensures children continue to receive nutritious meals throughout the summer months.
We provide a wide variety of diverse, nutritious meals that reflect the cultural backgrounds of the families we serve in South Los Angeles.
